ABSTRACT
In the paper the results of the application of the following lightweight aggregates: polystyrene granules, perlite, expanded glass, expanded clay and sintered fly ash, for the production of the insulating-structural fine-aggregate concrete was presented. The produced lightweight concretes had the density in ovendried density ranging from 520 kg/m3 to 1320 kg/m3 and compressive strength of 3 MPa ÷ 31 MPa. The experimental results have shown that, in the case of insulating-structural concretes, for which the strength lower than 10 MPa is required, the application of expanded clay or sintered fly-ash were considerably less effective in comparison to ultra-lightweight aggregates, especially to expanded glass.
